Computer skill Lab for conducting MCQ

The college has a well equipped computer skill lab with 65 computers, established in 2010 with the vision of the dean Dr Pankaj Patel to train students for objective system of examination and incorporate computer based teaching –learning methods

a) MCQ Lab is used to conduct MCQ tests as a form of formative assessment conducted by various departments. It is very helpful in quantitative and qualitative assessment of the students. In MCQ lab there is software installed which helps to make MCQ exam smooth and perfect. In the software, first MCQs are uploaded in the question bank for each subject and are then test papers can be created for each batch .The MCQ lab has various questions pertaining to different specialities. There are about 10000 MCQs currently in the MCQ lab.

b) After making Question bank, test making process in the software involves various steps like start date, end date, total number of MCQs ,marks per MCQ,and time per MCQ . Adding of MCQs in the preformed test process is done by selecting MCQs from the MCQ bank which we made.

c) This software contains students in different class of MBBS e.g. first MBBS, second MBBS, third MBBS and interns. Every class contains different students according to semester. Each student has his/her own unique ID and password. During the time of exam, unique ID and password has to be entered to log in and starting the MCQ test.

d) After test submission , students can see their marks along with explanation of answers. Hence any queries can be solved very easily. After taking the test , difficulty index of all MCQs can be calculated by formula which helps in improving quality of MCQs.
