Ours is a remarkable; unique premier institution providing excellent clinical education and scientific research training to our students. Since 1963 it has played a major role in training health professional and providing health care to people of Ahmedabad, Gujarat and neighboring States.

Traditionally education; clinical care; community services and research have been the corner stone of our mission.

Our goal is to provide excellent graduate and postgraduate learning experience to outstanding students to become tomorrow’s health care leaders, educators and researchers.

The college is affiliated to Gujarat University and is recognized by National Medical Commission for imparting training for U.G, P.G & Super Specialty courses in various medical specialties and super specialties e.g. Medicine; Surgery; Orthopedic; E.N.T., Ophthalmology; Neuro Surgery; Pediatrics’ to name the few.

Two big general hospitals and 2 specialty hospitals having almost 2000 beds are attached to college for clinical training. Our students learn from very talented, renowned and successful Physicians and basic science faculty and physician assistants in an environment of cutting edge clinical practice; scientific discovery and scholarly activity. Students who join our college are eligible to complete their U.G. Course (250 annual intake) and can also join the various postgraduate degree courses. The college now has a new multispecialty hospital with nearly 1600 beds in single complex with 18 storied and with Helipad facility for air ambulance. This hospital has 1278 general ward beds, 190 ICU beds, 80 emergency beds, 32 Operation theaters, 2 cath labs and 544 capacities for resident doctor accommodation. The hospital ahs green building character and it is first public hospital with EMR and PTS facilities.

We are proud of our tradition of training excellent primary care physicians and consultants. With the new reforms in the UG curriculum to be implemented from 2019 batch, it boosts our mission and vision of producing excellent professionals of first contact with the patients, families and community as a whole. Today there is great opportunity to understand, prevent, control and cure diseases and it is within the context of these limitless possibilities we seek to educate the physicians and scientists for a new millennium.
